About this Panelists/Speakers
Joseph B. Keller works in science policy and advocacy as the Senior Science Policy Officer at the American Psychological Association (APA). Here, he manages a portfolio of agencies and legislative issues addressing applied psychology, the social and behavioral dimensions of climate change, and the human factors implications of emerging technologies in society, among other topics. Prior to APA, Joseph was an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Science Foundation where he supported grant making programs along the spectrum from neuroscience to artificial intelligence. Joseph also served as a nonprofit executive search consultant, conducting leadership searches for institutions in higher education, academic medicine, philanthropy and environmental conservation. Joseph holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a MA from Boston University, and a BS from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He sits on the Board of the STEM Advocacy Institute and his writings have been published in Science, the Journal of Neuroscience, and Nature.
